Funded Projects

The previous government’s Regional Partnerships Program was created to assist local communities to achieve their potential.

The Regional Partnerships Program has now closed for new and unapproved projects.

No new Regional Partnerships applications will be accepted by the Department and applications currently under assessment will not be considered for funding.

On 28 May 2008, the Hon Anthony Albanese MP, Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government, announced an opportunity for 86 Regional Partnerships projects, involving local councils and not-for-profit organisations, whose projects had been approved but not contracted, to complete their contracts with the Australian Government by 31 July 2008: Regional Partnerships Local Government and Not-for-Profit Project Review. This approach will assist communities and local councils, who in good faith began work on projects, to complete their contracts.

The Australian Government will continue to fund those Regional Partnerships projects that have an executed contract in place with the Government.
